Save Yourself

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I'd like to start by saying that I attended this school during the name change to Cortiva. Absolutely horrendous.

Please do not waste your money or time on this *** hole of a school. I was a basic skin and makeup student and I can assure you that it was a waste of $10,000 + dollars. The teachers are uneducated and contradict each other and state law as well as the text books consistently. They lack ability to really teach.

The staff only cares about getting paid, you'll hear the teachers complain of being underpaid consistently. They lack supplies needed for us to learn and practice. I can honestly say that in my 6 months there I learned little to nothing from the teachers, I learned more from youtube and my fellow classmates than anything. The basic skin teacher that goes by the name Mrs.

Michelle is a AWFUL teacher who has about 5 jobs and cares far more about those. She will withhold important information that could make you better in your field so that she can succeed above you. She is rude to students and will lash out at students because she thinks they don’t like her ( She’s correct we don’t like her because she’s not a good teacher). When problems between students arise which they do OFTEN the school does nothing to intervene even if the arguments between students are physical.

It ultimately leads to a very hostile learning environment. As a part of your education you’ll be required to do clinic shift which in theory are a wonderful opportunity for the students to get some real hands on experience. The problem is that the staff in the classrooms during said clinic shifts are useless. They won’t and can’t answer any questions for you due to lack of knowledge, they’re disrespectful and they really seem like they don’t have any interest in being there.

The only people in that school that actually care about the students and their education are Brian the clinic shift manager and Mrs. Nancy the other skin care teacher. This school is for profit and nothing else and should be shut down as they are doing a real disservice to the students and the beauty community.

I wasted my hard earned money and time and now I feel like I need to go spend more $$$ to take certification courses to get the education that I should have received from Cortiva. Please do yourself a favor and get your education from a school that cares about it’s students and their success.

Does anyone even know what's going on?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

No one ever has the answers you are looking for. We are completely unsupervised in clinics and left with no direction should we need help.

Teacher is a total whack and has no idea what they are doing and can never answer even the most basic of questions, that is if they are even in the room. We were taught the absolute bare minimum if even, and the rest is withheld because they want us to pay the money to go into paramedical. Our demos by the teacher are *** and they never finish the whole service themselves. Several times the teacher has even used products on students after they said they were allergic to an ingredient.

Waste of time. Don't bother with this school, considering you are gonna have to get continuing education since I finished and learned absolutely nothing. We have no idea where to even get information about our licenses or what is in our scope. We are told literally nothing.

It is sick. Don't waste your time.

Florida College Of Natural Health - Teacher Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I currently go to this school for Paramedical program and it's awful and a waste of money. We have had 4 teachers in less then 2 months.

The teachers and staff are completely unprofessional. The teachers do not even teach what's from the book and are not even fully educated. They speak badly about students in lecture in front of other students. They are not respectful.

Our current teacher spoke about how someone who rapes people is not a bad person. I did not come to this school and pay all this money to hear and be taught about raping people. Is this what FCNH stands for-RAPE? Raping is not bad???

Yes. This was part of lecture.

Florida College Of Natural Health - Program Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This school was never as bad as it is now! I started June of 2015 in Massage & I enjoyed my experience overall.

The teachers were great & extremely helpful. Career services helped me find a great job. Once I got to skincare in March of 2016, the school slowly started going downhill from there. They moved us to a newer facility downstairs.

Yes, the school looks nicer & newer, but we're not paying for looks, we're paying for quality education. The school was downsized by a crazy amount. We no longer have separate classrooms for lecture. We take notes on the massage/esthetics tables in lab.

The labs themselves were also downsized. They put way more students in a classroom than working supplies. They also took away changing rooms & sinks. I am now in paramedical skincare & nothing is improving at all.

Trust me when I say the school is SEVERELY DISORGANIZED. The school still runs on a paper system, which is ridiculous for how much money they make! Attendance & grades are never up to date, which can end up costing you even more money. Things even go wrong for the students that have nearly perfect attendance & grades!

They make you pay out of your pocket & pay with your time for their mistakes & disorganization. The rules are never made clear to you & the communication between different departments in complete ***! At this point you're basically paying for the name "Steiner" because employers actually do prefer Steiner graduates, but I don't know how much longer that will last. You are absolutely not paying for quality, that's for sure.

You'll end up feeling robbed of your money a lot of the time. None of these things are the teacher's fault.

The teachers are actually great, helpful, caring, & just as frustrated as students. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this school closes it's doors completely soon

Disappointed

Serious waste of time and money. Teachers were qualified, but overworked and exhausted.

Admin staff went out of their way to enroll you, then out of their way to avoid you if you had questions about policies, problems with enrollment or finances, or wanted something, such as a copy of grades, transcripts or anything else that makes them spend time or money. Career services would discriminate and only help their favorites find work - they refused to help older students, students who were parents, or ethnic students. Typically their (admin and career services) way of not helping was to never reply to emails, phone calls, and to make excuses if you went to their office. I can't number how many times I was left waiting (at times for over an hour) when I had something important that needed to be addressed.

Then, they'd readily let everyone else interrupt my conversation (again, their way of NOT helping). School refused to review out-of-state transcripts without enrolling you (illegal!)

FRAUD ISSUES since 2000

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They had a Financial Aide Officer named Eileen who was fired for embezzlement (they say) In my class alone, we had 12 students who were charged for monies they had stolen from us! They took all of the student loans and Grant money--yet claimed they NEVER GOT IT AND WE WERE CHARGED!!??

The money went straight to them! We completed the class and then they held our Diplomas Hostage until we paid an additional amount--ranging from $560.00 to $2600.00!! If you refuse to pay (Like MOST of us did) they kept all transcripts. They still have it on our records and when we ask for proof or any records they say we were never students--but they received more than $11,000 dollars and yet they cant find records???

My FAFSA STILL has $560 on record, that I supposedly owe---yet they cant find any records????

Teachers there have often told us that the Administration will fake records and add false statements to pad records with BS. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY__THEY ARE UNETHICAL AND COMMIT FRAUD EVERY YEAR!Go to a better school---Florida has many reputable schools, especially on the Gulf coast!

3 years wasted.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Working there for 3 years do any extra task they ask of me- grading, supplies ordering. Taking down large whiteboards when all the men wouldn't.

i worked there without a single complaint, referral or so much as a warning. I changed positions to Career Services, and everything quickly came to and end. All my manager wanted to do was talk, pick favorites to help and if i didn't engage in the talking she would become very angry sending me emails of 100 things to do- which I did. Some staff was talking about some very inappropriate things about me.

My manager just told me didn't stop the conversation, anything. So i went to her manager to make a complaint about the rumors about me. When i did this she became enraged. Started harassing me every single day.

When i requested days off for my birthday she- didn't even look at the paper, said it wasn't enough time to request off. I looked in our Employee Handbook and I most certainly was in time to request off. She then called me a bully for looking at the book and then cornered me and harassed me until i felt so uncomfortable I could no longer work there. There are NEVER raises.

I forgot to mention that i was promised a 25 cent raise like the other career services advisor yet never got it. Blatantly lied to. I would have never taken a position for more work without a pay raise? Or knowing both my co workers make more than me.

I am appalled at the lack of HR response too. I called and they never called me back.

So as long as you're fine with NO raises, NOT being able to touch the handbook, and getting NO HR help. This is the place for you.

Don't go here, every one in the administration is either dishonest or doesn't know what's going not (not entirely their faults as there seems to be a lack of communication) the teacher they initially gave us had no idea what she was doing and talked about her personal life more than the program. Couldn't answer our questions half the time either.

Public clinic is awful, you sit around for four hours doing nothing, you're lucky to get a client. Classes are taught at a middle school level at a very slow pace and material is repeated 3/4 times. It's like sitting through kindergarten. I think I actually cried of boredom a few times.

And now it's been a months since we graduated and no word on getting our licenses which were promised weeks ago. DONT DO IT.

I read the reviews warning about me about this school and still went ahead and enrolled. I wish I didn't have to give a star.

The lack of professionalism and money hunger is beyond disgusting!!! I've sat in a class at this school and listened to a white teacher discriminate against blacks and muslims. That was the push for me to withdraw!! I then sat and waited for over 45 minutes for the Registrar who personally scheduled our appointment to completely forgot about me.

I returned the following day for another scheduled appointment with someone who was completely rude and ignored me that the President of the school had to help me out. At this time I voiced my concerns and experiences and she was very sympathetic. I received my final invoice from the school and kept calling to make the payment. However, the amount on my invoice didn't match what their records showed and I was then again transferred to the President. She took my number and promised to return a call the same day, since then i've called every single day (for the past two weeks) and left messages only to receive a call from Collections that the account was sent to them.

I had to end up paying the extra amount that did not match the final invoice I received just to save my credit. The lack of empathy, professionalism and blatant disrespect speaks volumes of this school. It tries to be a classy institution but is far from such. You're better off going to another Tech school.

I've tried calling corporate and haven't heard anything yet. So they basically *** over because there's no accountability or system that monitors them.

If you're going to be paying out of pocket...DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!! It's a huge waste of time and money....We spent the entire first block doing what could have been taught in three days.

I hate this school. Products are never in stock.

Appearantly, there is a budget for equipment, products.. And teachers. The beds at the school are broken, we have to share steamers, tables & divide the last few drops of products with a class of 10+. "Out of service" signs everywhere (sink, bathroom, water fountain, vending machines).

Teachers are unaware of what's going on with the school. Even when I pay for my monthly tuition I still get warning papers that I can't return back to class til I pay. It's embarrassing and honestly a huge waste of my time. Information is with held til you are days/weeks/months into the program.

I had a doctors note stating that I am excused for a few days but one lady refused to accept it.. I went to someone else who did. I signed to attend Monday & Wednesday.. Why do I need monthly scheduled with Thursday& Friday's classes.

I am completely unhappy with the school. It's cheap.

do not waste your time/money at a school that takes your money but refuses to give you a complete kit with brand new products. This place is a joke!!!!

The school is terrible, it's an absolute mess, many of the students in my class were misinformed of the class schedule several times, making it very hard for those of us who work and had to change her work schedule several times due to misinformation. The school has screwed up paperwork for students and we don't get our class schedules until the day that it starts Which sometimes means that we have to work on days that were not originally included in our schedules. The skincare teacher is not impressive either, she seems to know little bit about the industry but there are lots of things that she doesn't know and she mispronounces the most basic words which makes me question her experience, she also wastes a lot of class time, and spend more time talking about herself than the actual subject material.

This school blows *** balls. I have been attending the basic skin program from 4 months now.

I felt as if my education was cheated because they had to assign a new teacher to our class because the first one quit.. Because the school *** blows balls. We had to review everything we already learned, being set back two months. They all treat you like children, even though we are *** GROWN TRYING TO GET AN EDUCATION TO IMPROVE OUR LIVES.

There's a huge lack of communication and respect. They're constantly changing their school schedules without explanation. If you decide to join, be prepared to constantly change your life schedule. It will definitely interfere with your entire life.

All they want is your money. They take it all and give you *** equipment. They DO NOT teach everything they promise you. You they constantly *** over.

You have to pay for any makeup hours, even though you already pay to go here. I constantly hear admin talk *** about each other and gossip. The teachers themselves are even uneducated about the program they're teaching. During public clinic they do not allow you to eat or take any breaks for four hours straight.

I myself have many medical issues and my body cannot handle it. I've literally almost passed out and had to come to this point just to be able to eat a snack. Homework assignments are ***, I shouldn't have to color anything in for homework. I'm not 5.

We signed a contract to graduate in December, and because they pushed around our schedule (FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON) now we are due to graduate in February.. Maybe because I've heard several different dates from several different employees.

They teach us about sterilization but for some reason THEIR FLOORS, WALLS, and EVERYTHING ELSE are dirty. Probably because they're too greedy to pay for a janitor like any other normal school.

Instructors Are Not Qualified

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The basic skincare program is fine. I have no complaints about that.

The paramedical program is a JOKE!

The instructors are not qualified to be teaching any medical topics, as they do not understand the material. I remember learning about the white blood cells. A few sections later, I asked my instructor a question about neutrophils. Even though she had taught us about neutrophils two months earlier, she was CLUELESS!

These instructors are reading definitions from a book, but they do not understand the subject matter. Clueless people without prior medical experience have NO BUSINESS wasting their students' time passing off facts that they don't understand.

We paid in full in advance...then after the final..they said we owed money which was a lie! They never resolved it...and even FALSIFIED DOCUMENTS IN OUR FILES TO MAKE US LOOK HOSTILE! NEVER DID A THING TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM...THEY ARE OWNED PRIVATELY BY LAWYERS, USUALLY .

I wish I would've took the time to read these reviews, because I'm now withdrawing after being enrolled for 4 months. This school will send letters if you miss a day and you owe money, they will call and bug you until you come and bring them money.
