i hate this place. it sucks so bad.

they treat you like your children and teach you *** a 12 year old could understand. rip off.... $12000 later they tell you invest $30000 more and you will get a great job. wish I would have known that $12000 ago.

they lie about what you will learn and what you will be certified in when you complete the program. Your books are a joke Amatomy especially. It has fill in the blank pages. You have coloring assignments as homework pages.

Any college that has you use colored pencils for homework and thats it sucks. Too much more to list.

Location: Sarasota, Florida

Hey, maybe you should spell check or learn how to write before you bash a college. Just saying, do not type angry, you look like an ***.

I am not saying that you are wrong, or disagreeing with you, its just that I'm looking to go to school, and anybody with an 'angry' review I do not take seriously; but I will keep looking around.

Just my 10 cents...

Please people don't waste your money. Your 16 year old can teach the Skin course.

Administration is practically useless.

Get your Nursing license, it costs the same if you attend class as opposed to online. You will invest a little more time, but you will actually have an education

I personally think it is sad that you are basing your experience off of user comments and not going into the campus to get your own experience. These comments are from years ago; and obviously its not the same as it is still in business (the school).

I also think you should learn why coloring sections are used in the books. It all has to deal w/ cognitive memory and using more of your brain to learn these types of muscle groups/anatomy. Would u rather learn off a color chart or illustration or just read and memorize a list of words? The answer is obvious cmon now.

You guys need to get out of the internet and into the real world and see these things for yourself! This is education you aren't buying a freakin consumer product!!!

I am going to this school! It is amazing.

GREAT teachers!! I am having a wonderful time and learning a lot. For all of you that complain about being on probation... MAYBE you should show up to school like they ask you to.

You know what they expect from you before you ever start your first day. All of my classmates are so awesome...

My teacher is the best. I NEVER enjoyed school but this school has changed my life.

I had a pretty good experience at fcnh. I believe it was because the teacher I had.

Cindy S. went above and beyond to answer real life questions from her experience from being a para aesthetician. she also explained therapies that weren't in the text books but were emerging out in the field. Cindy was the best!

Another reason why I think it was worth going to fcnh is because they are constantly sending out job leads, if you apply yourself you will get hired right after you get licensed. before I graduated I got a job as a recp. in a salon and once i got licensed i got the aesthetician position.

but even though i am working, I am still getting leads from fcnh. in my book they did what they said they would do.

Thank you for the feedback. I was told to check out this school for massage therapy and so glad I read all the comments. I definately will not be calling them.

You also cannot spell definitely...did you actually go to the campus or are you going to base your opinion off of people with bad experiences? Please, don't be ridiculous now.

I'm FCNH graduate during the time new owners took over the school. Facial Products-the new ones are ok, but I preferred the older products because you saw immediate results in the facials and here in Miami, people want immediate results especially, when they are going out to an important event.

Yes, the school is expensive. Yes in anatomy you will have a coloring book to associate organs and tissues. This book is also used in other colleges; therefore, the book is legit. In the past, the school was not required to do criminal background checks on their students.

Not even in local colleges it was a requirement. FCNH did not do anything different than other colleges and I never saw my local college ask for a urine test for drugs when a new student was registering for school. It is hard keeping drugs out of schools why would it be different at FCNH? I do think, after so many stabbing, rapes and shootings, schools are becoming stricter on convicted felons going to their schools.

There are laws in effect now that are required in schools. You need to rethink what are you comparing FCNH too. In regards to Admin Staff-I didn't see the need to bring in corporate to try and run the clinics that were already run by very efficient teachers just because they were pushing their new line of products which BTW this is Miami not England. We have a different climate and different needs on our skin.

Gossipรขโ‚ฌยฆI did notice there was gossip when the new Admin staff came and took over. I never really saw gossip when the school was run by the previous ownership. I kept to myself and focused on my books and tests. Teachers...I had incredible teachers that did have a professional business during the day and taught there at night.

I disagree with the comment that these teachers are teaching there because they can't get a job in the field. Some of them I personally know and doing very well professionally. The only problem was the administrative staff, they misplaced papers and files and interrupted the classes so many times to pull students that it was upsetting teachers. Hopefully, they are not there anymore.

Here is my advice: if you want the AS Degree, don't do the advanced at FCNH yet, go to your local college, get it out of the way and go back to FCNH. It will be cheaper because transferring credits to other colleges is also expensive and having to repeat courses that are not transferrable is painful especially if you seriously want to continue and get a BS Degree somewhere else. You can also do the advanced certifications after your licensed. Techniques change over time and you will need to continue to recertify yourself so save your money till then.

If you have the money to splurge, there are schools that will accept the AS Degree from FCNH, you will have to do your research to find out like I did and now have my BS Degree. It is your responsibility finding out what credits are transferrable to other Universities not FCNH responsibility. Call the other Universities on your own time to find out what credits will be accepted. BTW-you can be very educated in other countries but when you get to USA you need follow our regulations.

Sorry, itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs the law. When we go to your country we have to follow your laws. If you think you know more than those teachers than why aren't you teaching? Don't come here to this country demanding when you know it is a privilege to be living and studying here.

What am I doing currently? I do massages and facials on my spare time to my friends but itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs not my career because I make more money in the field that Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm in and need health insurance for me and my family that spaรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs do not offer. This is also not the best job for single parents. Living on a cruise ship was not going to work for me and abandoning my children.

Another problem I saw was the super expensive equipment to have in a spa that after a couple of years needs to get replaced because newer ones are competing with yours. Not to mention how expensive it is to run a spa and get impacted by the fees and inspections from the Environmental Regulators. In addition, after you get licensed, you will need to continue your education and the classes are very expensive. So be prepared for that also because FCNH does not give discounts on the fees even if you were one of their old students.

Sorry if I'm bursting someone's bubble out there. Just trying to keep this real. You wonรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt get rich doing massages or facials so donรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt go into it thinking it will be and you will be competing with spas and other people that have the time, money, product and equipment vested in the best out there. Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs a beautiful competitive profession and you have to love what you do not the money you will make from it.

I will tell you this that thanks to what I was learned at FCNH, it opened the doors to areas that I fell in love with relating to health. I am currently in nursing school.

Therefore, I don't regret what I learned at FCNH. ;)

mimi 79, michelle,

I am a former financial aid officer (not with that school), and I can tell you definately that you are not liable for anything except your application fee if you have not started classes. Send a letter to the school and tell them that you are no longer interested in attending. Also contact the student loan lender (Dept. of Education) and request that they cancel your loans. Make sure you keep copies of all your correspondence.

There are good schools out there. Good luck with your search.

So, another one that cannot seem to spell...definItely. It is an i....of course you're probably spelling how you say it, no one in this country can speak, or do anything properly, except complain and brag.

Thank Youuuuu! I am not going there!!

All those things its what I wanted to hear because is the same never ending story of the beauty schools. I am already an esthetician full specialist in Puerto Rico and I move to Miami and here I have to study againnnnn the same ***! for a license. Oh yes they treat you like a 5 yrs old child and in some cases the teacher didn't know anything.

Ive been in 2 schools in PR and I do the course 2 times for those reasons, can you imagine a student knowing more than her teacher. Yes I survive that and Im pissed beacause Im suppose to repeat that torture again!

I attended FCNH's Paramedical Esthetician program which is a 2yr program in which you obtain your esthetician lisc. and supposedly an AS degree.

I am a single parent who took out thousands in student loans to do this program. The government doesn't offer the same amount of money in grants etc for private institutions so even though I qualified for some it only covered about half of my tuition & fees. I eagerly did this because I felt it was an investment in my career and future. I was led to believe that when I completed the training I would easily find a job in a Dermatology or Plastic Surgery Office.

The schools staff stressed that the 2yr program would set me apart as a "Medical Esthetician" rather than just a regular esthetician that does spa treatments. If that's what I had wanted to do they also offered a 3 month program for much less money that gives you the very basic training to get your lisc. but does not include the medical aspect or AS degree at the end. They also told me that all of my gen ed courses would transfer to a state school, but when I tried to transfer them to MCC where I wanted to go for my RN after realizing that it was almost impossible to get a job in the medical field without being a lisc nurse of some sort, MCC would not accept any of them.

Not a one!! So now I am left with student loan debt that has damaged my credit significantly and I have not ever found a job using my esthetician lisc. I have had to start over with nursing from the beginning redoing every gen ed course I had already taken and incurring more debt. My advice would be to only attend this school for their basic programs.

Don't waste your time and money on any programs they claim to give you an AS with. They simply do not have the accreditation that is needed to ensure that your credits will transfer to any other schools. So if whatever you're going there for is all that you ever want to do, then great. But if you want to end up with an AS or BA or above don't waste your time there.

And beware they do say they are accredited and have certificates to show you on their wall.

I know because I asked before enrolling. What I didn't realize at the time was that there are several different kinds of accreditation and the kind they have is pretty much a joke.

I am currently re-attending FCNH and I love it. When I previously attended this school I had a lot of complaints about it because its always easier to get lost in tiny negative things and forget about the positive bigger picture.

Yes the teachers gossip- so do ALL teachers. Everyone is open and nice and willing to help you out. Try going to a regular community college where there's triple the amount of students and NOBODY cares because it's too much effort to care.

FCNH is a great school and if you WORK hard and mind your business, you will be very successful. It ultimately comes down to YOU :) :)

Guest

Believe me, this place should NOT be approved as a teaching institution of any kind. Drug addicts, parolees, homeless....and the list goes on.

All accepted at FCNH. Doesn't matter if it puts other students in jeopardy or danger they don't care. If any student or teacher complains they suffer consequences.

ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!! How can a school like this be approved??????

Guest

I agree with most of the negative comments on this school, The positive ones are probably the staff trying to hit their sales quotafor the month. I too used to work their and the staff is more worried about gossiping than their job.

So you can assume what actually goes on there. plus the teachers are not real teahers just individuals that couldnt get a job in the field.

Guest

U people need to get a life. Nothing is perfect in life.

You are the one who can make your education a succes, not the place nor the people. Is you.

If you have a negative bias, you will always going to be negative in everything you do in this life. So, please all of you stop writing bad things about FCNH.
